Select Entities and Additional Options
Choose the specific data types you want to move, such as products, orders, and customers. At this stage, you can also select advanced options like customer password migration or preserving original IDs to ensure a smooth transition for your users.

Launch a Free Demo Migration
Run a test migration to transfer a small subset of data (approximately 10-30 items) to your new store. This allows you to verify the mapping and see how your products and categories will appear on the upgraded platform.

Initiate the Full Migration
After reviewing the demo results, launch the full migration. Cart2Cart will securely transfer all selected entities to your upgraded PrestaShop store, providing real-time progress updates until the process is complete.
Data Entities You Can Migrate

How long does the PrestaShop upgrade take?
The duration depends on the volume of data (products, customers, and orders) you are migrating. A standard migration typically takes a few hours, while the Demo Migration is completed in about 15 minutes.
Will my PrestaShop store be offline during the migration?
No. Your source store remains fully functional throughout the process. Cart2Cart only reads data from your source store, so your customers can continue to browse and make purchases without interruption.
Can I migrate my customer passwords?
Yes, by selecting the "Password Migration" additional option, you can transfer customer passwords so they can log in to the upgraded store using their existing credentials.
What is a Demo Migration?
A Demo Migration is a free trial that transfers a limited number of entities to your new PrestaShop store. This allows you to check the accuracy of the data transfer and see how it looks on the new version before committing to the full migration.
Can I preserve my original Order IDs?
Yes. By selecting the "Preserve Order IDs" option, your orders will retain their original identification numbers on the new store, which is essential for consistent internal record-keeping.
What happens if the migration fails?
Cart2Cart provides technical support to resolve any issues. Additionally, our Migration Insurance plans allow you to restart or update the migration if you encounter problems or if new data appears on your old store after the transfer.
